- 1 loaf French bread, sliced lengthwise
- 4 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
- 8 oz shrimp, peeled, deveined, and chopped
- 6 oz jumbo lump crabmeat
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Lemon wedges, for serving (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix softened butter, garlic, and parsley. Spread evenly on both halves of the bread.
- In a skillet over medium heat, sauté chopped shrimp with a pinch of salt and pepper for 2–3 minutes until just cooked. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
- In a medium bowl, gently combine cooked shrimp, crabmeat, mayonnaise, mozzarella, Parmesan, salt, and pepper.
- Spread the seafood mixture evenly over the garlic-buttered bread.
- Place the bread halves on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, until golden and bubbly.
- Broil for 1–2 minutes for extra crispiness, if desired.
- Remove from oven, let cool slightly, slice, and serve with lemon wedges.
Notes
- Use fresh lump crabmeat for best flavor, but canned will work in a pinch.
- Garnish with extra parsley or chives for a pop of color.
- This recipe also works well with a touch of Old Bay seasoning for extra seafood flair.
