Delightfully flaky puff pastry rolls filled with savory ground beef, aromatic spices, and melted mozzarella cheese. Perfect as an appetizer or snack for gatherings!


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 250g ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 150g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 200°C (400°F).
  • Heat a pan over medium heat and cook the ground beef until browned. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until the onion softens.
  • Season the mixture with thyme, paprika, salt, and pepper, then stir to combine.
  • Remove from heat and let cool slightly. Once cooled, mix in the shredded mozzarella cheese.
  • Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface. Spread the beef and cheese mixture evenly across the center.
  • Roll the pastry tightly around the filling, ensuring the seam is sealed.
  • Slice the rolled pastry into 6-8 pieces and place them on a baking tray lined with parchment paper.
  • Brush the tops with the beaten egg for a golden finish.
  • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden and puffed.

Notes

  • For an extra crunch, sprinkle sesame seeds on top before baking.
  • These rolls are best served warm but can be reheated in an oven for a crisp finish.
