Description

Savory sausage bread rounds stuffed with sweet Italian sausage, mozzarella, and Parmesan, seasoned with garlic and herbs, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or a snack.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound sweet Italian sausage, removed from casing
  • 1 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon oregano
  • 1/4 cup + 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese, divided
  • 1 large egg, divided
  • 1 pound loaf frozen bread dough, defrosted
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 teaspoons garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Cook sausage with garlic, pepper, and oregano until fully cooked. Mix in 1 egg and 2 tablespoons Parmesan.
  3. Divide bread dough into portions and roll into circles.
  4. Place sausage mixture in the center of each dough circle, add mozzarella and remaining Parmesan. Fold and seal edges.
  5. Place rounds on baking sheet, brush with remaining egg, and sprinkle garlic powder on top.
  6. Bake 20–25 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Cool slightly and serve warm.

  • Use room-temperature dough for even baking.
  • Don’t overfill to prevent leaks.
  • Brush with egg wash for a golden finish.
