- 1 wheel of brie cheese (8 oz)
- 1/2 cup cooked ground sausage
- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 1 egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh thyme (optional)
- 1 tsp honey or fig jam (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out puff pastry slightly on a floured surface. Place brie in the center of the pastry.
- Top brie with cooked sausage and optional thyme or honey.
- Fold pastry over the brie, trimming any excess and sealing edges. Flip sealed side down onto the baking sheet.
- Brush pastry with beaten egg for a golden finish.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until pastry is golden brown and puffed.
- Let cool for 5–10 minutes before serving. Serve with crackers, apple slices, or baguette.
Notes
- Use spicy sausage for a kick or maple sausage for a sweet contrast.
- Add a spoonful of fig jam or cranberry sauce for extra flavor.
- Chill brie slightly before wrapping for easier handling.
