Description

A twist on the classic mojito, the Sake Mojito combines the refreshing flavors of mint, lime, and soda with the smooth, subtly sweet taste of sake. This Japanese-inspired cocktail is a perfect blend of citrus, herbs, and a delicate kick from sake, making it a light and refreshing drink ideal for any occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 ounces sake (preferably a smooth, dry sake like Junmai or Ginjo)
  • 810 fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 lime, cut into wedges
  • 1 teaspoon sugar (or to taste)
  • Soda water (club soda or sparkling water)
  • Ice cubes
  • Mint sprig for garnish
  • Lime wedge for garnish

Instructions

  1. Muddle the Mint and Lime:
    1. In a glass, muddle the mint leaves, lime wedges, and sugar together to release the mint oils and lime juice.
  2. Add the Sake:
    1. Pour the sake over the muddled ingredients.
  3. Fill with Ice and Soda:
    1. Fill the glass with ice cubes and top with soda water to your desired level. Stir gently to combine.
  4. Garnish and Serve:
    1. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a lime wedge. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar, depending on your preference.
  • If you prefer a slightly stronger flavor, you can increase the amount of sake or lime.
  • For a more intense mint flavor, muddle the mint leaves a bit more.
