Description

Crispy, juicy Raising Canes style chicken tenders with a flavorful marinade and a signature creamy dipping sauce. Perfect for homemade comfort food.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 10 chicken tenderloins (1.5 lbs)
  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 2 tbsp pickle juice (optional)
  • 2 cups self-rising flour (or all-purpose flour + baking powder)
  • 2/3 cup corn starch
  • 1 tbsp paprika
  • 1 tbsp garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  1. Marinate chicken tenderloins in buttermilk, hot sauce, paprika, garlic powder, chili powder, and pickle juice for at least 2 hours.
  2. Whisk together self-rising flour, corn starch, paprika, garlic powder, and chili powder for the dry batter.
  3. Heat oil in a deep fryer or large skillet to 350°F (175°C).
  4. Remove chicken from marinade and coat evenly in the dry batter.
  5. Fry chicken in batches until golden brown and internal temperature reaches 165°F, about 4–5 minutes per side. Drain on paper towels.
  6. Whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder to make Canes style sauce.
  7. Serve chicken tenders hot with the sauce on the side.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the fryer; cook in batches for crispiness.
  • Pat chicken dry before breading for maximum crunch.
  • Can make the sauce a day ahead; refrigerate until serving.
  • Air fryer or oven-bake options can be used for a healthier alternative.
