Description

Soft pull-apart sliders filled with tender meatballs, warm marinara, melty mozzarella, and a creamy herbed ricotta spread. Perfect for parties, game day, or a cozy family dinner.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 prepared meatballs of choice
  • 1 cup marinara or Simple Tomato Sauce, plus extra for serving
  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls or pull-apart dinner rolls
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 3/4 cup ricotta cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped fresh herbs (basil, parsley, oregano)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • Kosher salt and ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a small bowl, mix the ricotta, parmesan, chopped herbs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until smooth and creamy. Set aside.
  3. Warm the meatballs in a saucepan with the marinara sauce until heated through.
  4. Slice the Hawaiian rolls horizontally without separating them, keeping the sheet intact.
  5. Spread the herbed ricotta onto the bottom half of the rolls.
  6. Place one meatball onto each roll and spoon over a bit of the sauce.
  7. Sprinkle evenly with shredded mozzarella.
  8. Place the top half of the rolls back on and press gently.
  9. Bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the tops are lightly golden.
  10. Serve warm with extra marinara sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • You can use store-bought or homemade meatballs—beef, turkey, chicken, or plant-based all work.
  • To prevent sogginess, drain excess sauce from the meatballs before assembling.
  • Brush the tops of the rolls with butter and garlic for extra flavor.
