- 2 eggs, at room temperature
- 1 cup milk, at room temperature
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1 cup flour
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Thoroughly butter six sections of a muffin tin.
- In a large bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, and melted butter.
- Add the flour and salt to the bowl and whisk until the batter is smooth.
- Divide the batter evenly among the prepared muffin tin sections.
- Place the tin in a cold oven. Set the temperature to 450ยฐF and bake for fifteen minutes.
- Without opening the oven, reduce the heat to 350ยฐF and continue baking for about fifteen more minutes until crisp and golden brown.
- Remove from oven and enjoy immediately while warm.
Notes
- Make sure your eggs and milk are at room temperature for the best rise.
- Do not open the oven door while baking to prevent the popovers from collapsing.
- Popovers are best served fresh but can be reheated gently if needed.
