Description

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 1 yellow onion, diced
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 carrot, peeled and cut into half-moons
  • 12 ounces ground pork
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tsp sweet paprika
  • 1 tsp marjoram
  • 3/4 cup white rice
  • 2 purรฉed tomatoes
  • 3 cups chicken broth
  • 1/2 small green cabbage, chopped
  • Chopped dill, for serving

Instructions

  1. Chop the cabbage, dice the onion, mince the garlic, and peel and cut the carrot into half-moons.
  2. In a large pot, heat butter over medium heat. Add garlic, onion, and carrot, and sautรฉ for 3 minutes.
  3. Add ground pork, breaking it up into pieces. Season with pepper, paprika, and marjoram. Stir in rice.
  4. Pour in purรฉed tomatoes and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, then add cabbage. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, or until the rice is fully cooked.
  5. Adjust salt to taste and stir in chopped dill before serving.

Notes

  • If you prefer a leaner option, ground turkey can be substituted for the pork.
  • Add extra vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini for more texture and flavor.
