Filling
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 3/4 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 cup chopped turkey pepperoni
- 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/4 cup grated parmesan
- 1 tbsp chopped basil
- 1 tbsp chopped parsley
For Assembly
- 25 wonton wrappers
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Make filling: In a bowl, combine mozzarella, pizza sauce, turkey pepperoni, red pepper flakes, oregano, parmesan, basil, and parsley. Mix well.
- Assemble rolls: Place a wonton wrapper on a clean surface. Add 1 tablespoon of filling to the center. Moisten edges with water and fold into a rectangle or triangle, pressing edges firmly to seal. Repeat with remaining wrappers and filling.
- Heat oil: In a deep skillet or pot, heat 2 inches of vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry: Fry rolls in batches for 2–3 minutes per side, until golden brown and crisp. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve: Serve hot with extra pizza sauce or marinara for dipping.
Notes
- Seal wrappers tightly to prevent filling from leaking while frying.
- For a lighter version, bake at 400°F (200°C) for 12–15 minutes instead of frying.
- Experiment with fillings like sausage, veggies, or different cheeses.
