Description

This Southern Pimento Cheese, also known as โ€œSouthern pรขtรฉ,โ€ is a creamy and flavorful dip made with a combination of cream cheese, mayonnaise, shredded cheddar cheese, and pimentos. Itโ€™s perfect as a dip for crackers or veggies, or as a spread for sandwiches. A must-have appetizer for game days, holidays, or any gathering.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 ounces cream cheese (at room temperature)
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 4 ounces diced jarred pimentos (drained)
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese (freshly shredded)
  • Fresh chives (chopped, to garnish)

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth. For a fluffier dip, use a hand mixer to blend the mayo, cream cheese, and seasonings.
  • Stir in the paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Add the diced pimentos and freshly shredded cheddar cheese. Fold everything together gently to combine.
  • Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to two hours to allow the flavors to meld.
  • Garnish with fresh chives before serving.
