Description

This Southern Pimento Cheese Sandwich is a creamy, tangy, and slightly spicy classic! Made with sharp cheddar, Monterey Jack, and pimento peppers, this easy spread is perfect for sandwiches, crackers, or dipping. Ingredients

  • 6 ounces cream cheese, at room temperature

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 2 1/2 cups shredded sharp Cheddar cheese

  • 1 1/2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon onion powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper

  • Kosher salt, to taste

  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste

  • 4-ounce jar sliced pimento peppers, drained and chopped

  • 2 tablespoons diced green onion

  • 8 slices white bread


Instructions

  • In a medium mixing bowl, stir together the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise until smooth.

  • Add the Cheddar and Monterey Jack cheeses, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, and cayenne pepper. Mix well and season with salt and black pepper to taste.

  • Fold in the chopped pimento peppers and diced green onions until fully combined.

  • Spread โ…“ of the pimento cheese mixture onto a slice of bread and spread evenly to the edges.

  • Top with another slice of bread to form a sandwich. Cut diagonally.

  • Repeat with the remaining bread and cheese mixture. Serve immediately or refrigerate the spread for later use.
