- 1 yellow cake mix
- 1 pack instant vanilla pudding mix
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup oil
- 1 cup water
- 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 1 cup pecans
Instructions
- Prepare the Batter:
- In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, eggs, oil, and water. Mix until smooth.
- Prepare the Pan:
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- Spray a bundt pan (or square/oblong pan) with baking spray.
- Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- Evenly sprinkle the brown sugar over the butter.
- Layer the pecans on top of the brown sugar.
- Assemble the Cake:
- Pour the cake batter over the pecans, spreading it evenly.
- Bake:
- Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes.
- For a bundt pan, bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Cool and Flip:
- Let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes.
- Carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate to reveal the caramelized pecan topping.
