  • 1 pack instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1/2 cup oil
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 stick (1/2 cup) butter, melted
  • 1 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 cup pecans

Instructions

  • Prepare the Batter:
    • In a mixing bowl, combine the yellow cake mix, vanilla pudding mix, eggs, oil, and water. Mix until smooth.
  • Prepare the Pan:
    • Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
    • Spray a bundt pan (or square/oblong pan) with baking spray.
    • Pour the melted butter into the bottom of the prepared pan.
    • Evenly sprinkle the brown sugar over the butter.
    • Layer the pecans on top of the brown sugar.
  • Assemble the Cake:
    • Pour the cake batter over the pecans, spreading it evenly.
  • Bake:
    • Bake in the preheated oven for 35-45 minutes.
    • For a bundt pan, bake for approximately 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Cool and Flip:
    • Let the cake cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes.
    • Carefully invert the cake onto a serving plate to reveal the caramelized pecan topping.
