Description

Ingredients

  • 1 store-bought flatbread or pizza dough (or homemade)
  • 1 ripe but firm pear (Bosc or Anjou), thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup (60g) crumbled Gorgonzola cheese
  • 1/2 cup (60g) chopped walnuts
  • 2 cups (60g) arugula
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic glaze (or balsamic vinegar)

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven

    • Preheat oven to 425ยฐF (220ยฐC).
  • Prepare the flatbread

    • Roll out the flatbread or pizza dough on a baking sheet or pizza stone.
    • Drizzle 1 tbsp olive oil over the dough and spread evenly.
  • Add toppings

    • Arrange pear slices evenly over the dough.
    • Sprinkle Gorgonzola cheese and chopped walnuts on top.
  • Bake

    • Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the crust is golden and crisp and the cheese is melted.
  • Add arugula

    • In a small bowl, toss the arugula with the remaining 1 tbsp olive oil, salt, and pepper.
    • Once the flatbread is out of the oven, top it with fresh arugula.

  • Drizzle and serve

    • Drizzle balsamic glaze over the flatbread.
    • Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Swap Gorgonzola for goat cheese or blue cheese for a different flavor.
  • Add a drizzle of honey for extra sweetness.
