Ingredients
Scale
- 4 bagels
- 4 eggs
- 4 slices of cheddar cheese
- 4 slices of prosciutto
- 4 slices Italian salami
- 1 1/2 tbsp salted butter
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1/2 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp chili paprika
- A few sprigs of fresh parsley
- Salt, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven: Set the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Prepare bagels: Slice the bagels in half and lightly toast them in the oven or a toaster.
- Cook garlic butter: In a small pan, melt butter and sauté minced garlic until fragrant. Brush garlic butter over the cut sides of the bagels.
- Assemble: On each bagel half, layer cheddar cheese, prosciutto, and salami. Crack an egg on top of each bagel half, being careful not to let it overflow.
- Season: Sprinkle dried oregano, chili paprika, and a pinch of salt over the eggs.
- Bake: Place assembled bagels on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the egg whites are set and yolks reach desired doneness.
- Garnish and serve: Remove from oven and garnish with fresh parsley. Serve immediately.
Notes
- For a creamier yolk, bake for a shorter time and cover loosely with foil.
- Swap cheddar with mozzarella or Gruyère for a different flavor profile.
- These bagels are great for brunch gatherings and can be prepared ahead by assembling and baking just before serving.
