- 1 tbsp butter
- 1/2 cup white wine
- 2/3 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup mini capers
- 1 lemon, juiced
- 1/4 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 lb white fish fillets (plaice, cod, or similar)
- 1/2 lb broccoli, cut into florets, stem peeled and chopped
Optional (to serve):
- 2 servings of rice
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200ยฐC (390ยฐF).
- Melt butter in an oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Add white wine and bring to a boil, then simmer for 2 minutes.
- Stir in the heavy cream and continue simmering for another 2 minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix lemon juice with a few tablespoons of the cream sauce, then pour it back into the pan. Simmer for 1 more minute.
- Remove the pan from heat, add the capers, and taste test. Season with salt if needed.
- Place the fish fillets in the pan, then layer the broccoli on top. Spoon some sauce over the fish and broccoli.
- Bake in the middle of the oven for 10-15 minutes. Thin fillets like plaice need 10 minutes, while thicker fillets like cod may need 15 minutes.
- Serve on its own or with a side of rice. Enjoy!
