- 1 box yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 3 large eggs (divided)
- 1 package (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking pan.
- In a large bowl, mix yellow cake mix, melted butter, and 1 egg until combined. Press mixture evenly into the bottom of the prepared pan.
- In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add remaining 2 eggs, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract, then beat until fully combined.
- Pour the cream cheese mixture over the cake base, spreading it evenly.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the center is just set but still slightly gooey.
- Cool completely before slicing into squares.
Notes
- The cake will have a gooey texture — do not overbake.
- For a twist, add chopped pecans or coconut to the base layer.
- Best served at room temperature or slightly chilled.
