Description

Mozzarella Stuffed Turkey Meatballs are juicy, flavorful, and packed with gooey melted cheese in the center. Made with lean ground turkey and a savory blend of Parmesan and Italian seasoning, these meatballs are perfect for a hearty dinner or a family-friendly meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb ground turkey (94% lean)
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1/3 cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 32 mozzarella balls (pearl-sized)
  • 2-4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 24-oz jar marinara sauce

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) or heat a skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a bowl, combine ground turkey, parmesan, panko, egg, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix until just combined.
  3. Take a portion of turkey mixture, flatten in your hand, and place a mozzarella ball in the center. Wrap meat around the cheese, forming a sealed meatball. Repeat with remaining mixture.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown meatballs on all sides, about 2–3 minutes per side, or place on a baking sheet and bake for 12–15 minutes until cooked through.
  5. In a saucepan, warm marinara sauce and gently add the cooked meatballs. Simmer for 5 minutes to let flavors meld.
  6. Serve hot with pasta, on sandwiches, or as an appetizer.

Notes

  • Make sure the mozzarella is fully enclosed to prevent it from leaking during cooking.
  • Ground turkey is lean, so avoid overcooking to keep meatballs juicy.
  • Optional: sprinkle with fresh basil or extra parmesan before serving.
