Description

- 500 grams ground beef
- 4 hoagie rolls
- 4 mozzarella cheese slices
- 4 cheddar cheese slices
- 1 large tomato, diced
- 1 small white onion, finely diced
- 1 to 2 jalapeño peppers, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil, about 15 milliliters
- 1 teaspoon salt, or to taste
- 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Add the ground beef and season with salt, black pepper, and chili powder.
- Cook for 6 to 8 minutes, breaking and chopping the beef finely until browned and cooked through.
- Divide the beef into four portions directly in the skillet.
- Place one slice of mozzarella and one slice of cheddar over each portion and allow the cheese to melt completely.
- Lightly toast the hoagie rolls until golden and slightly crisp.
- In a bowl, combine diced tomato, white onion, jalapeño, and chopped cilantro to prepare fresh pico de gallo.
- Scoop the cheesy chopped beef into the toasted rolls and top generously with pico de gallo before serving.
