Description

Juicy, cheesy, and loaded with caramelized onions and mushrooms, this messy burger is the ultimate comfort food—crazy easy to make and impossible to resist.


Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (or avocado oil)
  • 1 large onion, sliced into half rings
  • 1 lb mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 tbsp salt or favorite seasoning
  • 4 slices cheese (cheddar, Swiss, or your choice)
  • 4 burger buns or brioche buns

Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add sliced onions and cook for 10 minutes until caramelized.
  3. Add mushrooms and sauté until tender and browned. Remove and set aside.
  4. Shape ground beef into 4 patties and season with salt or your favorite seasoning.
  5. In the same skillet, cook patties for 3–4 minutes per side or until cooked to your liking.
  6. Top each patty with a slice of cheese during the last minute of cooking to melt.
  7. Toast buns lightly in the skillet for 1–2 minutes until golden.
  8. Assemble burgers with patties, mushrooms, and onions between buns. Serve hot.
