Description

The ultimateย crunchy, creamy, and cheesy tuna melt sandwich! This irresistible combo features aย flavor-packed tuna saladย with mayo, celery, pickles, dill, and chives, grilled onย sourdough breadย withย gooey melted cheeseย for the perfect crispy finish. Ingredients

For the Tuna Filling

  • 425g canned tuna, drained

  • 1/2 cup whole egg mayonnaise (or Kewpie mayo)

  • 3 celery stalks, diced

  • 1/4 red onion, finely diced

  • 35g (1/4 cup) pickles or dill cucumbers, finely diced

  • 2 tbsp fresh dill & chives, chopped

  • 1 tbsp Dijon mustard

  • Salt & pepper to taste

For the Sandwiches

  • 12 slices sourdough bread

  • 6 slices burger cheese (or cheddar)

  • Butter (for spreading)

  • Finely grated Parmesan (optional, for topping)


Instructions

Prepare the Tuna Filling

  1. Mix ingredients: In a large bowl, combine drained tuna, mayo, celery, red onion, pickles, dill, chives, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper. Stir well.

    • Thermomix method: Chop celery, onion, pickles, dill, and chives (6 sec, Speed 4). Scrape bowl, add remaining ingredients, mix (10 sec, Reverse, Speed 2). Repeat if needed.

Assemble the Sandwiches

  1. Butter bread: Lightly butter one side of each sourdough slice.

  2. Layer: On half the slices, place cheese, then tuna filling. Top with remaining bread (buttered side out).

Cook (Choose Your Method)

  • Frying Pan (Best Crunch!):

    • Heat pan on medium-low. Cook sandwiches in batches until golden (3โ€“4 mins per side).

  • Sandwich Press:

    • Grill until crispy and cheese melts.

  • Air Fryer:

    • Lightly spray bread with oil (instead of butter). Cook at 180ยฐC for 5โ€“10 mins, flipping halfway.

  1. Serve: Sprinkle with Parmesan (optional) and enjoy warm!


Notes

  • Extra crunch: Useย grated Parmesan on the outsideย before grilling.

  • Spice it up: Add a dash of hot sauce or paprika to the tuna mix.

  • Storage: Keep tuna filling refrigerated for up toย 2 days. Assemble sandwiches fresh.
