Ingredients
Scale
- 1 (12-pack) King’s Hawaiian Original Sweet Rolls
- 1/2 cup Marshmallow Fluff
- 3 eggs
- 3/4 cup Half & Half
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 3 tbsp salted butter, divided
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 1 tbsp hot chocolate mix (plus more for dipping)
Instructions
-
Prepare the rolls:
- Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half and spread about 1 tbsp of marshmallow fluff inside each one. Close them back up and set aside.
-
Make the batter:
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, half & half, cinnamon, and vanilla until fully combined.
-
Dip the rolls:
- Submerge each stuffed roll in the batter for 15–20 seconds—do not soak too long, or they’ll become too soggy.
-
Cook the French toast bites:
- Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium heat and melt 2 tbsp of butter.
- Add half the rolls and cook until golden brown on all 6 sides.
- Remove, melt the remaining butter, and cook the second batch.
-
Coat in cocoa sugar:
- In a shallow dish, mix white sugar and hot chocolate mix.
- Roll each cooked French toast bite in the cocoa sugar until fully coated.
-
Serve:
- Plate and serve with hot chocolate for dipping!
Notes
- Add mini chocolate chips inside for extra decadence.
- Use Nutella instead of marshmallow fluff for a chocolate twist.
- Serve with whipped cream or a dusting of powdered sugar
