Description

These Louisiana Voodoo Fries are crispy, cheesy, and packed with Cajun-inspired flavor. Topped with a rich cheese sauce, ranch dressing, and bold seasonings, theyโ€™re the ultimate indulgence!

Ingredients

  • French Fries:

    • 28-32 oz frozen French fries

    • 1 1/2 tsp brown sugar

    • 1/4 tsp garlic powder

    • 1/4 tsp onion powder

    • 1/4 tsp chili powder

    • 1/4 tsp paprika

    • 1/4 tsp salt

    • 1/4 tsp black pepper

    • 4 tbsp ranch dressing (plus more for dipping)

ย

  • Cheese Sauce:

    • 2 tbsp butter

    • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour

    • 2/3 cup milk (plus more if needed)

    • 2 cups medium cheddar cheese, freshly shredded

Instructions

  • Prepare the Fries:

    • Preheat oven according to package instructions.

    • Line 2 baking sheets with foil and spray with cooking spray.

  • Season the Fries:

    • In a small bowl, mix brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, chili powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.

    • Arrange fries in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets.

    • Sprinkle seasoning over the fries (reserve ยฝ tsp for garnish).

    • Toss to coat evenly.

    • Bake according to package directions, rotating the trays if needed.

  • Make the Cheese Sauce:

    • In a medium skillet, melt butter over medium-low heat.

    • Add flour, whisking constantly, and cook for 1-2 minutes.

    • Slowly whisk in milk and cook until slightly thickened.

    • Gradually add cheddar cheese, stirring until fully melted.

    • Reduce heat to low to keep warm. If the sauce thickens too much, add 1-2 tbsp milk.

  • Assemble the Fries:

    • Divide fries onto plates or one large serving tray.

    • Drizzle with cheese sauce and ranch dressing.

    • Sprinkle with reserved seasoning for extra flavor.

ย

  • Serve:

    • Serve immediately with extra ranch, ketchup, or cheese sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • For extra crispy fries, bake an additional 5 minutes.

  • Make it spicier by adding cayenne pepper or hot sauce.

ย

  • Use fresh-cut fries for a homemade versionโ€”just fry or bake until crispy.
