Description

This flavorful Korean tofu soup is packed with rich umami flavors, thanks to garlic, ginger, gochujang, and soy sauce. Light yet satisfying, itโ€™s perfect for a comforting meal served with steamed rice or noodles.


Ingredients

  • 1 block firm tofu (cut into small cubes)
  • 2 tbsp sesame oil
  • 1 garlic clove (chopped)
  • 1 small onion (chopped)
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups beef or vegetable broth
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup chopped green onions
  • 1/4 cup toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

1๏ธโƒฃ Sautรฉ the Aromatics:

  • Heat sesame oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  • Add garlic, onion, and ginger, stirring until fragrant.

2๏ธโƒฃ Cook the Tofu:

  • Add tofu cubes and stir gently until they become golden brown.

3๏ธโƒฃ Add Broth & Seasonings:

  • Pour in broth, water, gochujang, soy sauce, salt, and pepper.
  • Stir well to combine flavors.

  • Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let it simmer for 10-15 minutes.
