Description

Key Lime Crack is a tangy, sweet dessert bar featuring a crunchy graham cracker base topped with a creamy, lime-infused glaze and white chocolate chips. It delivers a bright zesty lime flavor perfectly balanced with sweetness and crunch, making it an irresistible treat perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Base

  • 2 cups graham cracker crumbs
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter

Lime Glaze

  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/3 cup fresh Key lime juice (or regular lime juice as substitute)
  • Zest of 2 Key limes

Toppings

  • 1 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Base: Start by crushing graham crackers finely but not to powder—they should still retain some texture. Mix the crumbs with melted butter until evenly coated. Press the mixture firmly into a parchment-lined baking pan to create an even, crunchy base layer.
  2. Mix the Lime Glaze: In a bowl, whisk together sweetened condensed milk, powdered sugar, fresh Key lime juice, and lime zest until smooth and glossy, forming a creamy, tangy glaze.
  3. Layer and Bake: Pour the lime glaze evenly over the graham cracker base. Sprinkle white chocolate chips on top. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for about 15-20 minutes until the edges turn golden and the glaze is set but still slightly gooey.
  4. Cool and Cut: Remove from oven and allow to cool completely to room temperature. Then chill in the refrigerator to firm up. After chilling, cut into small bars or squares for serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh Key lime juice for the best bright flavor.
  • Do not overbake; prevent dryness by baking until glaze is set but still gooey.
  • Chill fully before cutting to help bars hold their shape.
  • Line the pan with parchment paper for easy removal and clean edges.
  • Adjust white chocolate chip amount and lime zest according to taste.
