Description

A warm, comforting blend of Irish whiskey, freshly brewed coffee, and sweetened cream, this classic Irish Coffee is the perfect after-dinner drink or cozy treat on chilly days. Simple yet elegant, it’s an iconic cocktail that has stood the test of time.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 oz Irish whiskey
  • 4 oz freshly brewed hot coffee
  • 12 tsp brown sugar (or white sugar, to taste)
  • Freshly whipped cream, lightly whipped (enough to float on top)

Instructions

  1. Warm your glass by filling it with hot water; discard the water once the glass is heated.
  2. Add the sugar to the glass, then pour in the hot coffee. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add the Irish whiskey and stir to combine.
  4. Gently float the whipped cream over the back of a spoon to create a creamy top layer.
  5. Serve immediately and enjoy sipping the coffee through the whipped cream.

Notes

  • Adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your preference.
  • Use lightly whipped cream to ensure it floats beautifully.
  • Opt for high-quality Irish whiskey like Jameson or Tullamore D.E.W. for a smooth finish.
