Ingredients

Units Scale
Ramen:
  • 1 pack instant ramen (any flavor)
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 cup mixed vegetables (carrots, corn, peas, or bok choy)
  • 1 boiled egg (optional)
  • Green onions & sesame seeds for garnish
Sriracha Pearls:
  • 1/2 cup Sriracha sauce
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons agar-agar powder
  • 1 cup vegetable oil (chilled in the freezer for 30 minutes)

Instructions

  • Prepare the Sriracha Pearls:

    • In a small saucepan, combine Sriracha, water, and agar-agar. Bring to a boil while stirring.
    • Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
    • Using a dropper or squeeze bottle, drop the mixture into the cold oil. The droplets will form into pearls.
    • Strain the pearls and rinse with cold water. Set aside.
  • Cook the Ramen:

    • In a pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
    • Add instant ramen noodles and cook according to package instructions.
    • Stir in the seasoning packet, sesame oil, and mixed vegetables. Simmer for 1-2 minutes.
  • Assemble & Serve:

    • Pour the ramen into a bowl.
    • Top with Sriracha pearls, a boiled egg, and garnishes.
    • Enjoy your spicy, upgraded ramen!

Notes

  • For a milder version, use a mix of Sriracha and ketchup for the pearls.
  • Experiment with different noodle brands for varying textures.
  • Store extra Sriracha pearls in an airtight container in the fridge for up to a week.
