Description

Tender honey maple caramelized pears with golden edges and a glossy buttery glaze, gently spiced with cinnamon and perfect for serving over ice cream, pancakes, or yogurt.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium fresh pears, halved and cored
  • 3 tablespoons (60 g) honey
  • 3 tablespoons (60 ml) maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons (28 g) unsalted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Fresh mint sprigs for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the butter and allow it to melt gently.
  3. Arrange the pear halves cut side down in the skillet.
  4. Drizzle the honey and maple syrup evenly over the pears. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
  5. Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until the bottoms are golden and caramelized.
  6. Carefully flip the pears and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes, spooning the glaze over the tops as they soften.
  7. Continue cooking until the pears are fork tender and the sauce has slightly thickened.
  8. Transfer to a serving plate, spoon extra glaze over the pears, and garnish with fresh mint before serving.

Notes

  • Use pears that are ripe but still firm so they hold their shape while cooking.
  • Cook over medium heat to prevent the glaze from burning.
  • If the glaze thickens too much, add a small splash of water while reheating.
  • Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
