Description
Tender honey maple caramelized pears with golden edges and a glossy buttery glaze, gently spiced with cinnamon and perfect for serving over ice cream, pancakes, or yogurt.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 medium fresh pears, halved and cored
- 3 tablespoons (60 g) honey
- 3 tablespoons (60 ml) maple syrup
- 2 tablespoons (28 g) unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Fresh mint sprigs for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Place a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add the butter and allow it to melt gently.
- Arrange the pear halves cut side down in the skillet.
- Drizzle the honey and maple syrup evenly over the pears. Sprinkle with ground cinnamon.
- Cook for 5 to 7 minutes until the bottoms are golden and caramelized.
- Carefully flip the pears and cook for another 5 to 7 minutes, spooning the glaze over the tops as they soften.
- Continue cooking until the pears are fork tender and the sauce has slightly thickened.
- Transfer to a serving plate, spoon extra glaze over the pears, and garnish with fresh mint before serving.
Notes
- Use pears that are ripe but still firm so they hold their shape while cooking.
- Cook over medium heat to prevent the glaze from burning.
- If the glaze thickens too much, add a small splash of water while reheating.
- Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
