- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion, diced
- 4 medium russet potatoes, peeled and sliced
- 8 oz cheddar cheese, grated
- 1 (10 oz) can cream of chicken soup
- 1 (10 oz) can cream of potato soup
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp Creole seasoning
- 1/3 cup crispy French fried onions
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and diced onion until beef is browned and onion is soft. Drain excess fat. Season with salt, pepper, and Creole seasoning.
- In a bowl, mix together cream of chicken soup, cream of potato soup, Worcestershire sauce, and milk until smooth.
- In a greased 9ร13-inch baking dish, layer half of the sliced potatoes on the bottom.
- Spoon half of the cooked beef mixture over the potatoes, then pour half of the soup mixture over the beef.
- Repeat layers with remaining potatoes, beef, and soup mixture.
- Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes or until potatoes are tender.
- Uncover, sprinkle grated cheddar cheese evenly on top, and bake for another 10โ15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Top with crispy French fried onions and return to oven for 5 minutes.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
