- 1/2 pound lean ground beef (90% lean)
- 1/2 pound bulk pork sausage
- 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
- 8 ounces Velveeta, shredded
- 24 slices snack rye bread
- Chopped fresh parsley, for garnish
Instructions
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef and pork sausage together until fully browned and cooked through. Drain excess fat.
- Add chili powder to the meat mixture and stir to combine.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Assemble the sandwiches by placing a portion of the cooked meat mixture on a slice of rye bread. Top with shredded Velveeta, then cover with another slice of bread.
- Place sandwiches on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the bread is lightly toasted.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with chopped parsley, and serve warm.
Notes
- For a crispier sandwich, toast the rye bread lightly before assembling.
- Velveeta can be substituted with cheddar or mozzarella for different flavor profiles.
- Optional: Add sliced pickles or mustard inside the sandwich for extra taste.
