Description

A flavorful fusion of Greek gyros and tacos, featuring spiced ground lamb smashed onto crispy flatbreads, topped with creamy tzatziki, fresh veggies, and golden fries for the ultimate handheld comfort meal.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 small flatbreads
  • 1 pound ground lamb
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 medium cucumber, grated
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup cooked French fries
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin

Instructions

  1. Heat a cast iron skillet or griddle over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground lamb with oregano, cumin, salt, black pepper, and olive oil until evenly combined.
  3. Warm each flatbread for 30 seconds per side until flexible and lightly toasted.
  4. Place a small ball of lamb mixture in the center of each flatbread and press flat with a spatula to form a thin layer.
  5. Cook 2–3 minutes per side until browned and slightly crispy.
  6. In a small bowl, mix Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, minced garlic, and lemon juice to make tzatziki. Chill until ready to use.
  7. Spread tzatziki over the cooked lamb layer, then top with tomato slices, red onion, parsley, and fries.
  8. Squeeze fresh lemon over the top and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Use full-fat Greek yogurt for the creamiest tzatziki.
  • Warm flatbreads slightly before pressing to prevent cracking.
  • For extra flavor, add a pinch of smoked paprika to the lamb.
  • Assemble right before serving to keep fries crispy.
  • Leftovers can be stored separately and reheated before assembling.
