  • 1 green bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 red bell pepper, finely chopped
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 pound ground turkey
  • 1 can (28 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (6 oz) tomato paste
  • 4-5 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1/2 tablespoon dried basil or Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt (more to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cracked black pepper
  • 1/4-1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or Dutch oven over medium heat.
  2. Add olive oil and sauté the diced onion, carrots, and bell peppers for 6–8 minutes until softened.

  5. Add tomato paste and stir for 2 minutes to deepen the flavor.
