Description

Grilled Cajun Shrimp Skewers are a flavorful, quick-cook seafood dish with juicy shrimp marinated in a zesty Cajun blend and grilled to perfection. The smoky spice, citrusy lemon, and fresh parsley make these skewers an irresistible option for any gathering.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb. tiger prawns (or jumbo shrimp), peeled, deveined, and tails removed (about 24 prawns)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, divided
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cajun spice (or Old Bay spice)
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, finely chopped
  • 2 lemon wedges

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix the olive oil, lemon juice, minced garlic, Cajun spice, Italian seasoning, paprika, and chopped parsley. Stir to combine.
  2. Add the shrimp to the marinade, tossing to coat evenly. Let it sit for 15-30 minutes to soak up the flavors.
  3. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat. Thread the marinated shrimp onto skewers, making sure they are spaced evenly.
  4. Grill the shrimp for 2-3 minutes per side, until they turn pink and opaque, with a slight char on the edges.
  5. Remove the shrimp from the skewers and serve with fresh lemon wedges for squeezing over the top.

Notes

  • For an extra smoky flavor, you can grill the shrimp over wood chips or charcoal.
  • These shrimp skewers are perfect served with rice, a fresh salad, or grilled vegetables.
  • For spicier skewers, add more Cajun spice or a pinch of cayenne pepper to the marinade.
