- 2 pounds skinless boneless chicken thighs (about 8 larger thighs or 12 smaller ones)
- For the marinade:
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine the minced garlic, barbecue sauce, chili powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper to make the marinade.
- Add the chicken thighs to the bowl with the marinade and toss to coat evenly. Cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 4 hours, to allow the flavors to soak in.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grill grates.
- Remove the chicken thighs from the marinade and place them on the grill. Cook for 5-7 minutes per side, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165ยฐF (74ยฐC) and has a nice char.
- Remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- For extra smoky flavor, use wood chips on the grill while cooking the chicken.
