Description

Ingredients

  • 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or another creamy, well-melting cheese)
  • 1 cup gorgonzola cheese (see notes for options)
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1.5 cups uncooked macaroni pasta (or gluten-free/corn macaroni)
  • 1.5 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup milk (or half and half)

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
  • Grease a round oven dish (approx. 6ร—2 inches or similar).
  • Add shredded mozzarella, gorgonzola, salt, and black pepper to the dish. Mix well.
  • Stir in the uncooked macaroni, ensuring an even distribution.
  • Pour in the heavy cream and milk, then use a spoon to submerge the pasta and cheese.
  • Bake for 30 minutes.
  • Remove from oven, increase oven temperature to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC), and gently stir the mac and cheese.
  • Return to oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
  • Let it rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Use mild or strong gorgonzola, depending on preference. Blue cheese or goat cheese can be substituted.
  • For a crispy topping, add breadcrumbs and bake for an extra 5 minutes.
  • Adjust milk/cream ratios for desired creaminess.
