- 1.5 cups shredded mozzarella cheese (or another creamy, well-melting cheese)
- 1 cup gorgonzola cheese (see notes for options)
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1.5 cups uncooked macaroni pasta (or gluten-free/corn macaroni)
- 1.5 cups heavy cream
- 1 cup milk (or half and half)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- Grease a round oven dish (approx. 6ร2 inches or similar).
- Add shredded mozzarella, gorgonzola, salt, and black pepper to the dish. Mix well.
- Stir in the uncooked macaroni, ensuring an even distribution.
- Pour in the heavy cream and milk, then use a spoon to submerge the pasta and cheese.
- Bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove from oven, increase oven temperature to 400ยฐF (200ยฐC), and gently stir the mac and cheese.
- Return to oven and bake for an additional 15 minutes.
- Let it rest for at least 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
- Use mild or strong gorgonzola, depending on preference. Blue cheese or goat cheese can be substituted.
- For a crispy topping, add breadcrumbs and bake for an extra 5 minutes.
- Adjust milk/cream ratios for desired creaminess.
