Description

A rich and creamy pasta dish made with tender spaghetti, savory ground beef, and a smooth mozzarella cheese sauce finished with fresh chives. This comforting meal is hearty, simple, and perfect for family dinners.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 12 ounces spaghetti pasta
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely diced
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 3 cups milk
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh chives

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a deep skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned. Add diced onion and cook until softened. Stir in minced garlic and cook for 30 seconds.
  3. In the same skillet, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1 to 2 minutes until lightly golden.
  4. Gradually whisk in milk, stirring constantly until smooth and thickened.
  5. Reduce heat and stir in shredded mozzarella cheese until melted and creamy.
  6. Season the sauce with salt and black pepper.
  7. Add cooked spaghetti to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the sauce.
  8. Sprinkle with chopped fresh chives and serve warm.

Notes

  • Add milk gradually to prevent lumps in the sauce.
  • Keep heat low when melting cheese to maintain a smooth texture.
  • Reheat leftovers gently with a splash of milk to restore creaminess.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
