- 1 lb boneless New York strip steak (room temp)
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon avocado oil
- 3 tablespoons salted butter
- 3 tablespoons fresh garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon rosemary, finely chopped
- 1 demi baguette, cut into squares
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 round caramelized onion & herb Boursin cheese
- Balsamic glaze (for finishing)
- Flaky salt (for finishing)
Instructions
- Cut the room temperature steak into small cubes and toss with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add avocado oil and steak in a single layer. Sear for 1-2 minutes on each side.
- Remove the steak pieces from the skillet and turn off the heat. Add butter, garlic, and rosemary, stirring to create a garlic butter sauce.
- Return the steak to the pan and toss in the garlic butter mixture.
- Preheat the broiler. Arrange baguette squares on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt. Broil for 3-4 minutes or until golden.
- Spread Boursin cheese on each piece of toasted baguette. Add steak cubes on top and drizzle with pan drippings.
- Finish with balsamic glaze and a sprinkle of flaky salt before serving.
Notes
- For Extra Flavor: Try adding a splash of red wine or beef broth to the garlic butter sauce for an even richer flavor.
