Description

A mouthwatering combination of juicy steak bites, garlicky butter sauce, and creamy Boursin cheese, all atop crispy baguette squares. Perfect for a special occasion or a satisfying family meal, this appetizer is a steak loverโ€™s dream come true!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb boneless New York strip steak (room temp)
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil
  • 3 tablespoons salted butter
  • 3 tablespoons fresh garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon rosemary, finely chopped
  • 1 demi baguette, cut into squares
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 round caramelized onion & herb Boursin cheese
  • Balsamic glaze (for finishing)
  • Flaky salt (for finishing)

Instructions

  • Cut the room temperature steak into small cubes and toss with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Heat a large cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add avocado oil and steak in a single layer. Sear for 1-2 minutes on each side.
  • Remove the steak pieces from the skillet and turn off the heat. Add butter, garlic, and rosemary, stirring to create a garlic butter sauce.
  • Return the steak to the pan and toss in the garlic butter mixture.
  • Preheat the broiler. Arrange baguette squares on a baking sheet, drizzle with olive oil, and sprinkle with salt. Broil for 3-4 minutes or until golden.
  • Spread Boursin cheese on each piece of toasted baguette. Add steak cubes on top and drizzle with pan drippings.
  • Finish with balsamic glaze and a sprinkle of flaky salt before serving.

Notes

  • For Extra Flavor: Try adding a splash of red wine or beef broth to the garlic butter sauce for an even richer flavor.
  • Cheese Variation: You can use other flavored Boursin cheeses if you prefer a different taste.
  • Herb Twist: Fresh thyme or sage can also be used instead of rosemary for a different herbal profile.
