Description

This Garlic Herb Cheese Log is a creamy and flavorful appetizer made with fresh goat cheese, garlic, and a variety of aromatic herbs like chives, parsley, basil, and oregano. Itโ€™s rolled in pecans for added texture and finished with a drizzle of olive oil for a deliciously rich experience.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (11 oz.) soft fresh goat cheese log (may sub all or part cream cheese)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives (1 1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh parsley (1 1/2 teaspoons dried)
  • 1 tablespoon finely chopped fresh basil leaves (1 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons finely chopped fresh oregano leaves (1/2 teaspoon dried)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced (1/4 teaspoon powder)
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons lemon zest
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper or freshly cracked to taste
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped pecans
  • Drizzle of olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine the goat cheese (or cream cheese), chives, parsley, basil, oregano, garlic, lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Mix until well incorporated.
  2. Shape the mixture into a log and roll it in the finely chopped pecans until evenly coated.
  3. Drizzle with olive oil and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to firm up.
  4. Serve with crackers, sliced vegetables, or toasted baguette slices for dipping.

Notes

  • If you prefer a creamier texture, use all cream cheese in place of the goat cheese.
  • This cheese log can be made a day ahead of time and stored in the fridge for easy entertaining.
