- 2 tsp onion powder
- 2 tsp Italian seasoning
- 2 tsp paprika
- 2 lbs cubed steak (sirloin, NY Strip)
- 2 lbs Yukon Gold potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp browning sauce (optional, for color)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
For the Garlic Butter:
- 6 tbsp unsalted butter, softened
- 2 tbsp parsley, chopped
- 2 tbsp minced garlic
- 1 tsp salt
For Garnish:
- Fresh parsley
- Red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a small bowl, mix together salt, garlic powder, onion powder, Italian seasoning, and paprika. Divide into two equal portions.
- In another bowl, mix softened butter with minced garlic and parsley. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the cubed steak with Worcestershire sauce, browning sauce (if using), and half of the spice mixture. Toss to coat evenly.
- Parboil the diced potatoes in boiling water for 5-6 minutes until slightly tender. Drain, let cool, then season with the remaining spice mixture and 1 tbsp olive oil. Toss to coat.
- Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear the steak for 5-7 minutes until browned on all sides. Transfer to a plate.
- In the same skillet, add the parboiled potatoes and cook over medium-high heat for 10-15 minutes, stirring occasionally, until golden and fork-tender.
- Return the steak to the skillet, add the garlic butter, and toss everything together until coated in the buttery sauce.
- Garnish with red pepper flakes and parsley. Serve hot.
Notes
- For extra flavor, let the steak marinate in Worcestershire sauce and seasonings for 30 minutes before cooking.
- Yukon Gold potatoes provide the best texture, but russet potatoes can be used as a substitute.
- Adjust red pepper flakes to taste for extra heat.
