Description

Grilled Steak & Shrimp (Surf and Turf) slathered in garlic butter makes for a gourmet dinner that tastes like something from a high-end restaurant, ready in just 25 minutes. Perfect for steak lovers and seafood fans alike!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, divided
  • 4 cloves garlic, or 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 New York strip steaks or Porterhouse steaks
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 8 ounces shrimp, deveined, tails on or off

Instructions

  1. Mix together butter, garlic, and fresh chopped parsley. Refrigerate until ready to use.
  2. Heat a large grill over high heat. Lightly grease the grill plates with oil. Pat the steaks dry with a paper towel, brush lightly with oil, and generously season with salt and pepper.
  3. Grill the steaks for 4-5 minutes on each side until browned and cooked to your desired doneness. Spread half of the garlic butter over the steaks. Transfer the steaks to a warm plate and let rest for 5 minutes.
  4. While the steaks are resting, melt the remaining butter. Season the shrimp with salt and pepper.
  5. Reduce the heat to medium and grill the shrimp for 5-6 minutes, depending on their size and thickness. Flip them halfway through and continue cooking until they turn pink and opaque on the inside.
  6. Toss the remaining garlic butter with the shrimp and serve with the steaks.

Notes

  • For an extra flavor boost, add a squeeze of lemon juice over the steak and shrimp before serving.
  • Adjust the cook time for the steak and shrimp based on your preferred level of doneness for the steak and size of shrimp.
