Description

Golden, crispy on the outside and melty on the inside, fried cheese is the ultimate indulgent snack or appetizer. Perfect for parties or a cozy treat at home.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 500 g (17 oz) whole cheese block (Edam, Gouda, Mozzarella)
  • 80 g (3/4 cup) all-purpose flour
  • 1 pinch paprika powder
  • 1 pinch ground black pepper
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 200 g (2 cups) breadcrumbs
  • 500 ml (2 cups) canola oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the cheese block into sticks or cubes as desired.
  2. In a shallow bowl, mix flour with paprika and black pepper.
  3. In another bowl, beat eggs with milk.
  4. Place breadcrumbs in a third bowl.
  5. Coat each cheese piece in flour mixture, then dip in egg mixture, and finally coat with breadcrumbs. For extra crispiness, repeat the egg and breadcrumb coating.
  6. Heat canola oil in a deep pan over medium heat.
  7. Fry the cheese pieces in batches until golden brown, about 2–3 minutes per side.
  8. Remove and drain on paper towels. Serve immediately while warm and melty.

Notes

  • Serve with your favorite dipping sauce like marinara, ranch, or spicy mayo.
  • Work quickly to fry the cheese to prevent melting too much.
  • Can be prepared ahead and kept in the fridge before frying.
