Description

These Fluffy and Soft Dinner Rolls are a classic side that complements any dish with their pillowy texture and buttery flavor. Made with just 8 everyday ingredients, they’re perfect for holidays, dinner parties, or cozy weeknight meals. Sweetened lightly with honey and finished with a golden honey butter glaze, these rolls will melt in your mouth. Ideal for homemade recipes, healthy recipes easy, and fine dining recipes lovers.

Ingredients

Dough:

  • 1 cup warm milk (110-115°F)

  • 1 package (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast

  • 1 1/2 tablespoons granulated sugar, divided

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened and cut into pieces

  • 1 tablespoon honey (optional)

  • 1 large egg, lightly beaten

  • 3 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon salt

Honey Butter Glaze:

  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

  • 1 tablespoon honey

Instructions

  1. Heat milk in a microwave-safe bowl or glass measuring cup for about 40–50 seconds until it reaches 110–115°F.

  2. Sprinkle yeast and ½ tablespoon sugar over the milk. Do not stir. Let it sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.

  3. Whisk in the softened butter pieces, honey (if using), and beaten egg.

  4. In a stand mixer bowl fitted with the dough hook (or a large mixing bowl), combine flour, remaining 1 tablespoon sugar, and salt. Mix to combine.

  5. Pour in the milk mixture and mix on low until just combined (about 30 seconds), then knead on medium-low for 7–10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Alternatively, knead by hand on a floured surface for 7–10 minutes.

  6. Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm spot until doubled in size (about 1½ to 2 hours).

  7. Punch down the dough, divide it into 12–15 equal portions, and roll each piece into a ball. Place them in a greased 9×13 baking dish.

  8. Cover and let rise again for about 1 hour, or until doubled.

  9. Preheat oven to 375°F. Bake for 20–25 minutes or until tops are golden brown.

  10. Mix melted butter with honey and brush over warm rolls right out of the oven.

Notes

  • You can freeze shaped, unbaked rolls for later—just thaw and allow to rise before baking.

  • Swap honey for maple syrup in the glaze for a fun twist.

  • Perfect for Thanksgiving, Easter, or any comforting Sunday dinner.
