Description

English Muffin Tuna Melts are a quick and delicious open-faced sandwich featuring a creamy tuna salad topped with melty provolone cheese on toasted English muffins. Perfect for a satisfying lunch or light dinner.

  • 4 English muffins, sliced in half
  • 12 oz canned tuna (preferably solid white albacore, packed in water, drained)
  • 1 rib celery, finely diced
  • 2 green onions, thinly sliced (some dark green parts reserved)
  • 1 tablespoon sweet relish
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 slices provolone cheese or other melty cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler or oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a medium bowl, combine tuna, diced celery, sliced green onions, sweet relish, mayonnaise, salt, and pepper. Mix well to form tuna salad.
  3. Toast the English muffin halves lightly under the broiler or in a toaster.
  4. Spread the tuna salad evenly over each toasted muffin half.
  5. Top each with two slices of provolone cheese.
  6. Place under the broiler until the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 2-4 minutes. Watch closely to avoid burning.
