Description

These EASY Savory Palmiers combine flaky puff pastry, smoky maple bacon, spicy cheddar cheese, and a touch of maple-Dijon sweetness. Perfectly crisp, cheesy, and addictive, they’re the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer for brunch, parties, or game day.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 (17-18 oz) Box Refrigerated Puff Pastry Dough (2 sheets)
  • 14 oz Maple Bacon (8-10 strips, cooked and chopped)
  • 8 oz Spicy Cheddar Cheese (with Habanero or Jalapeño), shredded
  • 2 tbsp Mayonnaise
  • 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard
  • 1/3 cup Maple Syrup

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, and maple syrup to form a smooth spread.
  3. Unfold one puff pastry sheet on a floured surface and spread half of the maple-Dijon mixture evenly over it.
  4. Sprinkle half of the shredded cheddar and cooked bacon evenly on top.
  5. Roll both long sides of the dough inward toward the center until they meet. Slice into ½-inch thick pieces.
  6. Arrange the slices cut-side down on the baking sheet. Repeat with the second pastry sheet and remaining filling.
  7. Bake for 15–18 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown.
  8. Cool slightly before serving. Optionally drizzle with a touch of maple syrup for added shine and flavor.

Notes

  • Keep puff pastry cold while working to ensure flakiness.
  • Cook and drain bacon before adding to avoid excess grease.
  • Chill the rolled pastry before slicing for cleaner edges.
