- 1 cup sugar (see note)
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder (preferably Dutch-processed)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 tsp salt (omit if using salted butter)
- 1/2 cup add-ins (chocolate chips, chopped dark chocolate, or walnuts, optional)
Instructions

Preheat & Prep:
- Preheat the oven to 350ยฐF (175ยฐC).
- Grease an 8ร8-inch square pan or a 9ร5-inch loaf pan, or line it with parchment paper.

Melt & Mix:
- In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter for 1 minute.
- Add sugar and cocoa powder, then whisk vigorously for 1 minute until the sugar dissolves.

- Whisk in the eggs, one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
