Description

Soft and buttery Hawaiian rolls layered with melted cheddar and mozzarella, brushed with garlic butter, and baked until golden and perfectly gooey. A quick, crowd pleasing comfort food that is perfect for sharing.


Ingredients

  • 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls, kept connected
  • 6 slices cheddar cheese
  • 6 slices mozzarella cheese
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. Using a sharp bread knife, slice the connected Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping them intact as one slab.
  3. Place the bottom half of the rolls into a lightly greased baking dish.
  4. Layer cheddar and mozzarella slices evenly over the bottom half.
  5. Place the top half of the rolls back on.
  6. In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic powder, and salt.
  7. Brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls.
  8. Cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
  9. Remove foil and bake an additional 5 to 7 minutes until golden and cheese is fully melted.
  10. Remove from oven, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, let cool slightly, then pull apart and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use room temperature cheese for smoother melting.
  • Do not overbake to prevent the rolls from drying out.
  • For extra flavor, add a thin layer of Dijon mustard inside before baking.
