- 12 Hawaiian sweet rolls, kept connected
- 6 slices cheddar cheese
- 6 slices mozzarella cheese
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, finely chopped
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Using a sharp bread knife, slice the connected Hawaiian rolls horizontally, keeping them intact as one slab.
- Place the bottom half of the rolls into a lightly greased baking dish.
- Layer cheddar and mozzarella slices evenly over the bottom half.
- Place the top half of the rolls back on.
- In a small bowl, mix melted butter, garlic powder, and salt.
- Brush the butter mixture evenly over the tops of the rolls.
- Cover loosely with foil and bake for 15 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake an additional 5 to 7 minutes until golden and cheese is fully melted.
- Remove from oven, sprinkle with chopped fresh parsley, let cool slightly, then pull apart and serve warm.
Notes
- Use room temperature cheese for smoother melting.
- Do not overbake to prevent the rolls from drying out.
- For extra flavor, add a thin layer of Dijon mustard inside before baking.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven for best texture.
