Description

Easy Homemade Jalapeño Hot Sauce is a spicy, tangy condiment made from fresh jalapeños, garlic, and vinegar. Perfect for adding heat to tacos, eggs, sandwiches, or any favorite dish.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound jalapeño peppers or other hot peppers
  • 2 large garlic cloves, peeled
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 2-4 tablespoons white vinegar, to taste
  • 1/4 cup water

Instructions

  1. Wash jalapeños and remove stems. For milder heat, remove seeds; leave seeds in for extra spiciness.
  2. Combine jalapeños, garlic, salt, vinegar, and water in a blender or food processor.
  3. Blend until smooth, adjusting consistency with additional water if needed.
  4. Taste and adjust vinegar or salt as desired.
  5. Pour the sauce into a clean jar or bottle and refrigerate. Let it sit for at least a few hours to develop flavor before using.
  6. Use as a condiment for tacos, eggs, sandwiches, or any dish that could use a spicy kick.

Notes

  • Wear gloves when handling hot peppers to avoid skin irritation.
  • Store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
  • Adjust the vinegar for desired acidity and flavor.
  • Optional: roast peppers beforehand for a smoky flavor.
