Description

This classic guacamole recipe is fresh, creamy, and full of flavor. With ripe avocados, tangy lime juice, and a touch of cilantro and onion, itโ€™s the perfect appetizer to serve with tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos and nachos.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 3 large avocados, ripe
  • 1 Roma tomato, seeded and diced, optional
  • 1/2 medium white onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup cilantro, finely chopped (about 1/3 bunch)
  • 3 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper, freshly ground

Instructions

  1. Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
  2. Using a fork or potato masher, mash the avocados to your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).
  3. Add the diced tomato, onion, and cilantro to the mashed avocado.
  4. Stir in the lime juice, sea salt, and black pepper. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  5. Serve immediately with tortilla chips, or use as a topping for tacos, nachos, or other dishes.

Notes

  • If you prefer a spicier guacamole, you can add finely chopped jalapeรฑos or a pinch of cayenne pepper.
  • To keep the guacamole from browning, press a piece of plastic wrap directly onto the surface and refrigerate until ready to serve.
