Description

Easy Hibachi Steak with Fried Rice is a quick, restaurant-style meal made at home with tender seared steak, buttery fried rice, vegetables, and classic savory hibachi flavors.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 pounds steak (sirloin or ribeye), cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 3 cups cooked rice (preferably day-old)
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup mixed vegetables (peas and carrots)
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • Green onions, sliced
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and add 1 tablespoon butter and 1 teaspoon sesame oil.
  2. Add steak cubes in a single layer and sear for 2-3 minutes per side until browned and cooked to desired doneness.
  3. Season steak with soy sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Toss briefly, then remove from skillet and set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, melt remaining butter and add eggs. Scramble until just set.
  5. Add cooked rice and vegetables, stirring to combine and heat through.
  6. Drizzle with remaining soy sauce and sesame oil, stirring gently.
  7. Return steak to the skillet and toss everything together until evenly combined.
  8. Garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, then serve hot.

Notes

  • Day-old rice works best to prevent mushy fried rice.
  • Cook steak in batches if needed to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Adjust soy sauce to taste to control saltiness.
