- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp dried Italian seasoning
- 1 large egg, beaten
- 1 1/2 cups whole buttermilk
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 3/4 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese, divided
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh parsley
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh chives
- 1 tbsp chopped fresh rosemary
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350ยฐF (177ยฐC). Grease an 8 x 4-inch loaf pan with cooking spray and dust lightly with flour.
- In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and Italian seasoning.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together egg, buttermilk, olive oil, 2/3 cup Parmesan, parsley, chives, and rosemary.
- Fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, stirring until just combinedโdo not overmix.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan, smooth the top, and sprinkle with the remaining Parmesan.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before removing and serving warm.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a pinch of garlic powder or swap Parmesan for Asiago.
- If you donโt have buttermilk, use 1 1/2 cups milk mixed with 1 tbsp lemon juice or vinegar.
